About Rebound

Running belongs in more lives.

I'm Ethan Block, a biomedical engineer and the person behind Rebound. I want running to feel possible whether your first goal is one minute, a steady weekly routine, or a race.

The story

Why I started

I was formerly Director of Engineering in cancer diagnostics and now work as a Product Engineering Manager in ambulatory ECG. In those fields, I've seen people face some of their hardest health moments. I've also seen how easy it is to feel healthy, put off regular movement, and only think seriously about it when health becomes urgent. I built Rebound to help people take an active role in their health sooner, with running that can fit into everyday life.

Published physical therapy and training research helped shape Rebound's graded approach: start where you are, make room for rest and strength, and pay attention to how you respond. When you report that a run did not feel right, fixed rules decide what happens next. AI can personalize the explanation, but it does not make that decision.

Health and evidence

Why regular activity matters

Regular physical activity supports long-term health. Rebound is thoughtfully designed as one tool for keeping running in your life. Its graded plans start from where you are, make room for recovery, and respond to what you report along the way.
